COMICS FOR TROOPS

Help Send Some "Comic Relief" To Our Troops!

This week, DDP Publishing will release the anxiously awaited "Jericho Season 3" Comic Book.

The "Comics For Troops" project has been created to allow fans, and anyone wishing to send some love to our brave deployed men and women, the ability to pool their donations in order to send off copies of the comic to them.  It is with our hope that by providing them with this bit of  entertainment it brightens their time just a little while they serve our country overseas.

Thanks to DDP Publishing for offering a huge discounted rate for this effort.  The entire series will be purchased this week (November 25th) and be shipped direct to Staten Island Project Homefront in Staten Island, NY and will be included in care packages sent to the men and women deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan.  The next shipping date for SIPH is Thursday, Jan. 7th so there is still time to contribute, and as many issues that are released at that time will be sent overseas in that shipment.

Donations can be made in any amount by clicking the DONATE NOW tab above.  Please contribute only what you can, include a note to accompany a Comic even if you can't contribute.  Its the knowing that these men and women are in our thoughts that touch them deepest.  Notes can be submitted through the "contact us" page of this site.  As donations begin to come in a "total raised" section will be included on this site for you to follow.

If this effort helps our men and women serving let their minds leave where they are for even a short time, then we can all know we did a little something to improve their day and thank them for their sacrifices.

Thank you for supporting this project.

~ UPDATE NOVEMBER 25, 2009 ~

On behalf of JR4OT, Inc., thank you to all who contributed so far, whether monetarily or with equally appreciated words of support, to the "Comics For Troops" effort.

As a result of these contributions and the generous pricing of 50% off the cover price, made available by DDP Publishing, the $854 collected to date for this specific effort enabled a purchase today of 432 issues, (72 full six-issue sets) of The Jericho "Season 3" Comic Series.  These comics will be shipped to Iraq and Afghanistan via Staten Island Project Homefront, to be enjoyed and shared by our deployed service men and women .

Although Staten Island Project Homefronts next packing date for overseas shipments is not until December 29, 2009, we felt with today being the release of the first issue, coupled with the spirit of the Thanksgiving Holiday, there was no better time to place this initial order.

Contributions will continue to be accepted through this site, with periodic orders placed to coincide with SIPH scheduled packing dates.

With great thanks to those that serve our country, our thanks to you for your support of this effort thus far, and thanks to DDP for enabling twice as many opportunities to provide a little comic relief overseas, we wish you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving.

Jericho Comic Announcement

Devil's Due president, Josh Blaylock, made the announcement at the San Diego Comic-Con presentation in July. He made it clear that the comic book would pick up and continue from the exact point where the television series left off. The comic book storyline will utilize all of the characters from the television series with the main story following main character Jake. Additionally, Blaylock said that it was very important to him and everyone at Devil's Due to find an artist who could render the comic book figures to look exactly like the actors from the show.

The first story arc of the new comic will be a six issue mini series with longer arcs to follow. And when asked about it, Blaylock stated very directly that a Jericho feature film is definitely in the cards and it's all really a matter of timing and finding the right story to tell in a two hour block of time.
